Visiting the movie locations!



Since today is day 250 (halfway through, yay!) I'm going to write a special post! :-D

In our last vacations we went to Los Angeles and recreated the scenes of the movie (as good as possible, since I couldn't pack all my clothes!)

We used as a reference the map from Movie Locations. Thanks to my husband Ricbit who has a great sense of direction, and helped me taking the pictures! <3

Some of the places were a challenge, such as the Angel's Knoll park. Not only it was closed (we had to climb the fence!), it was also very hot! I only put the sweater to take the pictures and took it off quickly! It was also sad to see the state of the park, which is abandoned now :-(

We were lucky with Summer's apartment, someone was moving in that day and the gate was open! hoho. This was our chance the bend the rules a little (again!) and visit the interior of the building. Of course we were discovered and asked to leave, but it was worth it!

The coffee shop where Tom and his friends meet wasn't open. But we discovered later it was never open at all, it is actually a movie set for bar scenes! :-P

The movie theater where they go watch the movie Vagiant is also a movie set! Looks like this is very common in Los Angeles...

We went to same Ikea where they made the movie scene. I also took the time to rest a bit in one of the beds!

The record store apparently doesn't exist anymore. But there is a large bookstore in the same street which also sells records, we took our pictures there.

The "happy dance" fountain, in the Civic Center Mall, looked a bit different from the movie. Now it serves as a summer playground to the children (and for me too, I loved playing in the water!).

I enjoyed a lot going to the Redwood Bar & Grill, the bar where the karaoke scene was filmed. The bartender was very friendly, the burger was tasty, I was able to sit in the exact spot where she sat on the movie, and I also could sing Sugar Town in the stage (there was a machine where you could choose a music). I made a fool of myself but it was worth it. hehe.

    I really love this post ! The 250th! It made me smile from ear to ear Ila! I watched the video and read the whole post ! I should be doing work but this was too much of a distraction. :-)

      Projeto pessoal mesmo. Eu sou ilustradora, e precisava de algum outro hobby para variar um pouquinho! hehe.
      Sobre ser confundida, olha, ninguém me parou na rua, mas tenho impressão que mesmo se fosse ela ninguém pararia, lá o pessoal respeita muito este lance de privacidade.
